Montmeló, April 8th 2024 – Ellis Spiezia has become the first driver to confirm his commitment to the fourth RX2e season. The new season will start in Essay, France, a return after 13 years, on June 8th-9th. There, the American driver will make his debut in rallycross. He is set to participate for ZEROID Motorsport.

Spiezia is a native electric racing driver and began his racing career in indoor karting. He always prioritized electric motorsport. He and his family took a leap of faith in 2020 and moved to Europe to pursue his electric racing career. He took part in the German E-Kart Championship achieving a P10 overall, which improved the following year with a P5 overall. In the same year he also took part in Rotax Euro Project E20 and the Spanish eKart Championship, getting the vice Championship in both categories.

Finally, in 2022 he left the karting behind and moved to cars and participated in Yacademy US F4 Winter Series, finishing P5 overall with a P3 as his best finish; ERA Championship, where he achieved his fist pole-position, and the Ford Fiesta Cup, where he managed to finish every race in the podium, earning a P3 overall at the end of the Championship.

Last season, in 2023, he took part in NXT Gen Cup, the world’s first 100% electric junior touring car cup, where after leading the championship for most of the season, he finally got P3 overall.

The next step for this electric racing driver is to jump to Rallycross. “I am super excited to take the next step in my electric motorsport journey with QEV Tech in the RX2e Championship this season. Rallycross will be a new challenge for me and is an incredible application for electric powertrain tech”, said Spiezia.

Ahead of the 2024 season, Ellis Spiezia has been testing with ZEROID X1, the car used in RX2e, to get comfortable with it to prepare for the Championship. “Everyone at QEV Tech was amazing at my first test in Calafat, and I can’t wait to be part of their team this season, promoting the championship, the technology and the future of the sport. Getting sideways and taking jumps, I intend to represent QEV Tech and the championship well and put on a great show for the fans”, the new RX2e driver added.

The new RX2e season will start at Essay, France on June 8th-9th. For more information about RX2e, please visit the official website at www.fia-rx2e.com.
