QEV Technologies is part of the energy and environmental challenge faced by cities to transform urban mobility and last-mile delivery into more sustainable options.
The founder of QEV Technologies, Joan Orús, embarked on this journey 20 years ago with the creation of a solar car that travelled across the salt lakes of Australia. The team’s competitive spirit led to countless victories in various championships. The experience gained in WRC, TCR, WTCC, and Formula E competitions has enabled us to develop cutting-edge technology. This technological innovation has opened doors to technological development and the manufacturing of complete vehicles from scratch for other automotive companies.
Management
Joan Orús began his motorsport journey 20 years ago, creating Spain’s first solar car.In 2006, he founded SUNRED, developing the SR21 and SRX—then the most powerful electric GT. The company won the Barcelona Provincial Council’s Innovation Award in 2009. His team achieved major victories, including SEAT Leon Eurocup, ETCC (twice), 24h of Barcelona, and WTCC runner-up.
In 2014, he led Team China Racing to win the first Formula E Championship. Through WRC, TCR, WTCC, and Formula E, his innovations expanded into full vehicle development. Now, as CEO of QEV Tech, he pioneers electric mobility for a better urban future.
Juan Fernández has worked at the highest level of motorsport teams as race engineer and technical director winning all the championships he has been involved (Spanish RAID Championship, Spanish Touring Car Championship, USA Champ CART Championship, GABORD Competition, GP2, Formula E…)
He has also spent over ten years developing engines and electric powertrains for the industry and he has led technically all our development projects.
As the CTO of QEV Tech, he is responsible of the Technical Office, is who decide the technology that needs to used in each project.
