Munnings tiene talento m\u00e1s que suficiente para dar el pistoletazo de salida en la categor\u00eda pionera: la categor\u00eda de apoyo del Campeonato Mundial de Rallycross de la FIA (WRX). La brit\u00e1nica intentar\u00e1 adaptarse r\u00e1pidamente a este nuevo reto cuando se estrene en la primera ronda del Campeonato.<\/p><p>La brit\u00e1nica tendr\u00e1 que familiarizarse con el coche RX2e, que genera 250 kW (335 hp) de potencia y hasta 510 Nm de par. --e-global-color-642f782 );\">Catie, cuyo sue\u00f1o de ni\u00f1a era convertirse en veterinaria, empez\u00f3 a competir en el automovilismo desde muy joven, inspirada por su padre, Chris Munnings, que dirig\u00eda la escuela de rallyes de Londres en Brands Hatch. Al crecer en una granja, Catie estaba acostumbrada a dar vueltas en quads desde muy joven antes de empezar a participar en eventos locales de automovilismo en todo el Reino Unido.<\/span><\/p><p>En 2016 y con tan solo 18 a\u00f1os, Munnings debut\u00f3 en el ERC Rally, al volante de un Peugeot 208 VTi R2 para el equipo Junior de Saint\u00e9loc. Se coron\u00f3 como campeona del trofeo femenino del Campeonato Europeo de Rallyies.<\/p><p>En 2017 y 2018, se adjudic\u00f3 una serie de victorias en diferentes etapas, al tiempo que se forj\u00f3 una exitosa carrera televisiva como presentadora del programa de CBeebies, Catie&#8217;s Amazing Machines.<\/p><p>En 2020, Catie debut\u00f3 en el Campeonato Mundial de Rallyes de la FIA antes de ser fichada por Genesys Andretti United Extreme en 2021 para competir en Extreme E junto a Timmy Hansen. Catie y Timmy ganaron el Arctic X Prix inaugural en Groenlandia y consiguieron tres podios en su temporada de debut. Es algo completamente nuevo para m\u00ed: he corrido con un coche el\u00e9ctrico en Extreme E, pero nada como esto.<\/p><p>Me ha sorprendido mucho la velocidad que el coche tiene cuando aceleras por primera vez y su asombroso par motor. Ser\u00e1 un gran reto para m\u00ed. Pero no tengo grandes expectativas. Estoy aqu\u00ed para desarrollarme y progresar. Quiero adquirir m\u00e1s experiencia como piloto.
